Synopsis

This is the new Brock and Poole mystery...When Eunice Bailey takes her wedding ring into a London jeweller to have it enlarged, she is very keen for it to be done quickly. She is a reliable and favoured customer and when the woman doesn't return or answer her telephone, the jeweller contacts the police. Detective Chief Inspector Brock and Detective Sergeant Poole are assigned to the case, and what begins as a fairly simple missing person enquiry develops into a mystery that has ramifications stretching as far as Bermuda. Along the way, an attractive Chelsea shop assistant, a Dutch pilot, a model and an Irish builder all play their part in the mystery surrounding the woman's disappearance. During Graham Ison's thirty year career in Scotland Yard's Special Branch, he was involved in several espionage cases. He also spent four years at 10 Downing Street as Protection Officer to two Prime Ministers.
