Synopsis

This is the second 'Dulcie Schwartz' feline mystery. Everybody has a secret. Dulcie Schwartz is hard at work on her doctoral thesis, trying to justify a new reading of the overlooked Gothic novel, "The Ravages of Umbria". But her thesis adviser seems distracted, and university politics could scuttle her plans. There's no support at home: her room-mate Suze is giving up on academia and her boyfriend Chris is increasingly absent. When Dulcie stumbles over the bloody body of a dashing fellow grad student, life couldn't get any worse. Unless her mother's strange dreams are true and all of Dulcie's work has been for naught. With Mr. Grey - the wise and loyal ghost of her late, great cat - strangely silent, and her new kitten refusing to speak, Dulcie just might be on her own.
