Revd Dr Nicholas Sagovsky is a prominent Anglican theologian and ecumenist who has held several high-profile academic and ecclesiastical positions. He served as the Canon Theologian at Westminster Abbey from 2004 to 2011 and is currently a Visiting Professor in Theology and Public Life at Liverpool Hope University. A long-standing member of the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC), his work focuses on the pursuit of visible Christian unity and social justice. He has authored several influential books, including Ecumenism, Christian Origins and the Practice of Communion (2000), Christian Tradition and the Practice of Justice (2008), and studies of the modernist theologian George Tyrrell. Dr Sagovsky is also widely recognized for his advocacy on behalf of refugees, having co-founded the ‘Article 26 Project’ to promote access to higher education for people seeking asylum in the UK.
