Synopsis

With the more recent proliferation of handicrafts and interest in antiques, lace has come into vogue once more. New and colourful threads, and computer programs which facilitate pattern design, are challenging lace makers in the creation of modern and interesting pieces. The internet enables a rapid and beneficial exchange of ideas. As a result of all these, tatting has developed and gained immensely. It is popular universally and has taken on an exciting contemporary style involving colours, threads and technique. This augurs well for the 21st century.

The patterns in this book continue on from Beads in Tatting, the author's first book and combine traditional and contemporary styles and, of course, beads. Some techniques are common to a number of the projects. There are also references to the techniques of needle and hook tatting.
