It reimagines edible ingredients as luxury accessories through a series of conceptual still-life photographs. The book features fashion items recreated from the textures and colours of fresh produce - including a handbag crafted from blueberries, stilettos made of aubergine, and a Prada-inspired dress fashioned from citrus peel. Each photograph is a study in texture, showing how the curves of a scallop shell or the green of a broccoli floret can mimic the structure of a designer hat or a piece of jewellery. As a playful concept piece exploring the boundaries of taste and luxury, it will be of interest to collectors of contemporary photography or those looking for the more eccentric side of fashion history. -- "This book reimagines the boundaries between fashion and food, two worlds long connected by desire, excess, and identity. Both are languages of consumption, one feeds the body, the other the gaze. Rather than presenting food as something to be eaten, it is used as a material to be sculpted, shaped, and elevated. The goal is not to tempt the appetite, but to provoke a shift in perception: what happens when something humble, even banal, is transformed into an object of style? A Matter of Taste plays with irony, seduction, and the absurdity of luxury. It questions our habits of consumption and the value we assign to things, especially when beauty, status, and ephemerality are at stake. The entire project was photographed in 2007 using a large format film camera, to capture with surgical precision the textures and tensions between the perishable and the iconic, enhancing the surreal elegance of each piece.".
