Synopsis

Le roi est déterminé à découvrir ce qui se trouve au-delà du monde connu, et a promis un beau prix au capitaine du bateau qui peut lui apporter une carte du monde entier. Pour cela, ils auront besoin de cartographistes et Quinn de 14 ans est étonné d'être l'un des choisis. Alors que ses frères plus âgés attendent l'aventure, Quinn se contente d'une vie calme à la ferme, mais lorsque le mot de son talent spécial sort il n'a aucun choix que de ranger ses sacs et de rejoindre l'équipage dépareillé d'esclaves et de stowares à bord des Libertas.
Les autres concurrents feront tout pour gagner, mais le plus grand danger peut venir du monstre marin étrange chaud sur leur queue ou des terres mystérieuses et sans charte pour lesquelles ils sont liés. Personne ne sait ce qui se trouve hors du bord de la carte, mais Quinn est sur le point de savoir qu'il est plus que n'importe qui qui qui a fait des économies. . .
