Bernard Taylor wrote this memoir after retiring as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wilmington Trust Company, the largest commercial bank in Delaware, with the twelfth largest personal trust operation in the nation. During his tenure from 1979 to 1992, the company enjoyed enormous progress, raising its profitability to the point where it ranked consistently among the four or five most profitable banks in the United States. Taylor, who lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania with his wife, Barbara Silverstein, and their black lab, Molly, enjoys his retirement by writing, sailing, fishing, playing golf and restoring antique cars.
