She has written articles and books on topics as diverse as squirrels, butter, the history of blue jeans and the science of snow. She says of The Dragon of Lonely Island, "We once had an invisible pet dragon named Petunia, who ran tirelessly behind the family car on trips. Fafnyr probably evolved from Petunia, plus an awful lot of childhood reading." Rebecca Rupp lives with her family in an old farmhouse in Vermont, USA, where she home tutors her three sons.
