In this work, Christina Thurmer-Rohr argues that to secure a place in this world, women have always had to participate in the creation and maintenance of male values. She believes that in order to play a valid role within society, women must abandon their present security and become homeless. She argues that the relinquishment of this security should not be perceived as a loss, but is a precondition for withdrawal from a male-dominated society. The author's ideas do not lead to rash political or therapeutic action, but give opportunity to rethink and alter one's beliefs.
