Synopsis

Alan Green has established himself as the Voice of Football thanks to his entertaining and controversial commentaries. Where others say 'the lad'll be a little disappointed', he will say 'that was just awful'. In The Green Line he reveals the truth about his stormy relationship with Alex Ferguson, and provides fascinating portraits of his fellow commentators, as well as recounting many wonderful stories of the difficulties he and his colleagues face in trying to do their job. He provides trenchant comment on the key issues of the day, such as the influx of foreigners into the game, the standard of refereeing and much else besides. The Green Line is a brilliant account of life as a commentator and of the modern game.
