The late JT Graham had a considerable collection of old weights and measures and was a senior officer in the weights and measures department of a large local authority. The late Maurice Stevenson, who revised this book for its third edition, was a senior inspector of weights and measures and an enthusiastic collector of old weights and measures.

Graham had a considerable collection of old weights and measures and was a senior officer in a large local authority's weights and measures department. For eight years, he was the editor of The Monthly Review, the Institute of Trading Standards Administration (ITSA) journal, and of two books. ## ## Maurice Stevenson was also a senior inspector of weights and measures and an enthusiastic collector of old weights and measures in 1955 he formed a library for the ITSA which is now housed at the University of Sussex. From 1962 to 1974, he ran a Weights and Measures History Circle and edited its bulletin Libra and in 1979, carried out research at museums on old verification stamps under a grant from the British Academy.## ## Shire Books by Bloomsbury Publishing, a book publishing company based in London, England, and formerly by Shire Publications Ltd. and Osprey Publishing.
