A critic of the art of technology, Paul Virilio has taught us that much media image is a strategy of war and that accident is becoming indistinguishable from attack. Steve Redead is Professor of Sports Media and Sub Dean Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Arts at Charles Sturt University, New South Wales, Australia. He has published fifteen books including The Paul Virilio Reader, The Jean Baudrillard Reader and Paul Virilio: Theorist for an Accelerated Culture, all with Edinburgh University Press.
