Synopsis
Life in the clergy is quiet, respectful, peaceful - or so Callie Anson believed when she began her new job as curate to Reverend Brian Stanford at All Saints' church in Paddington. Little did she realise just how wrong she could be. After the traumatic end of her relationship with fiance Adam, the last thing Callie needs is any more emotional turmoil. But it seems she is not destined for a quiet life just yet. Knowing that women in the clergy are still looked down upon by some, Callie was prepared to face some criticism. But the deep-seated hatred shown by some of her respected male colleagues particularly Father Adimola takes her by surprise. But when he is found strangled to death and her mentor Frances is accused of the crime, Callie must call upon all her faith to steer her through such troubling and violent times. With DI Stuart Neville and DS Mark Lombardi leading the investigation, it is not long before the ugly truth behind the ecclesiastical facade is chipped away to reveal the hidden secrets of the clergy.

À propos de l?auteur
Kate Charles was born in Cincinnati. Described by the Oxford Times as 'a most English writer', she has gained her insights whilst working as a parish administrator in her local Church of England. She has a special interest and expertise in clerical mysteries, and frequently lectures on ecclesiastical crime novels. Kate lives in Bedford with her husband. A former Chairman of the Crime Writers' Association, she is currently Chairman of the Barbara Pym Society. Her favourite hobby is visiting churches. She is a member of the Ecclesiological Society, the Historic Churches Preservation Trust, and the Kempe Society.
