Gerald Hammond worked as an architect for thirty years before taking nominal retirement in 1982. He lives in Scotland with his family. The author of more than forty mystery novels, he now divides his time between shooting, fishing and writing. He also writes under the pseudonyms 'Arthur Douglas' and 'Dalby Holden'.
