Synopsis
This series is designed to introduce young children to the technology around them in a way that is both informative and enjoyable. Step-by-step instructions show children how to make their own simple models and encourages them to investigate the scientific principles that make these models work. The books are designed for the National Curriculum for Science and contain notes for parents and teachers. The concept of time is the subject of this book. It uses simple technology projects and experiments to give children an insight into the idea of time and shows how it can be measured. Projects include making simple sand dials, waterclocks, candle clocks and pendulums. Other topics include day and night, seasonal changes and 24-hour time. The various projects encourage children to learn about the Earth, its position in space and the forces that govern it.
