Author: Jim Riordan attended university in Birmingham, London and Moscow. He became a Professor of Russian Studies, Honorary Doctor, Head of Modern Languages and is now the award-winning author of many academic and children's books. Sweet Clarinet was the runner-up in the Whitbread Prize 1998. Illustrator: Stephen Player is an established illustrator of many children's books.
