David Hucknall is a chartered chemist. He also loves railways, and since childhood he has recorded their history. His previous books include Signals & Signal-boxes (SPL, 1998), Surviving Signal-boxes (SPL, 2000) and Engine Sheds in Camera (SPL, 2005). David lives in Hampshire.
