Biographie de l'auteur

F.W. Fifield is a former Principal Lecturer in AnalyticalChemistry in the School of Applied Chemistry at KingstonUniversity, UK, and now works in association with The Centre forEarth and Environmental Science Research at Kingston. His currentresearch interests concern mainly the environmental problems of theformer Soviet Union including Belarus and especially theIrkutsk/Baikal Region of Eastern Siberia.

P.J. Haines taught physical and analytical chemistry atKingston University for thirty years. His research interestsinclude the uses of thermal analysis and spectroscopic methodsespecially in the area of fire– retardant polymers. He now works asan analytical chemistry consultant.
