Naval intelligence’s ability to read and analyse German naval and diplomatic signals on a daily basis was a significant factor in the allied victory. The Germans never realized that their codes had been broken. David Ramsay is the son of Admiral Sir Bertram Ramsay, the celebrated D-Day leader. He is the author of Lusitania: Saga and Myth. He lectures regularly on Gallipoli and Winston Churchill. David has returned to primary sources to rightly celebrate the achievements of the enigmatic and brilliant Reginald Hall.
