Présentation de l'éditeur

Anton Rippon is a Derby Boy. He was born in the town just before Christmas 1944, has lived there ever since, and is now one of the city's best-known local writers and personalities. He writes a popular weekly column in the "Derby Evening Telegraph", taking a whimsical look at life in the city, and is also a regular contributor to the "Telegraph's" "Bygones" and "Yesterday Remembered" publications. Indeed, his popular features on people and events in Derby began almost thirty years ago, and he has been a familiar name and face ever since. "A Derby Boy" is a highly readable and light-hearted account of the city's development after the war, seen through the author's eyes. In telling of his own childhood and teenage years, Anton recalls events and characters familiar to thousands of Derbeians. His objective is to entertain and inform, and he has written a book that will tap directly into the huge nostalgia market.

Revue de presse

THIS is a thank-you letter to the author of the book my step-daughter, Stacey, gave me at Christmas A Derby Boy, by Anton Rippon. I am not one for picking up a book and just reading it but this brought back a lot of memories, I could not put it down. It was all about the area I was brought up in. I was born at 56 Lynton Street. I had five sisters and one brother and our house was a two-up and two-down, so that was nine of us in there. Thank you, Anton Rippon. I could go on but I am not one for putting pen to paper as you can tell. F. Mole --Derby Evening Telegraph, 19th Jan 2010
