Clive King is the author of several novels for children, of which Stig of the Dump has become a modern classic. In all his books he draws on his own experiences - from travelling the world while in the Navy (from the Arctic to Australia and from Iceland to Japan) and from, later, teaching English in Syria, the Lebanon, Bangladesh and India - to create tales of adventure from all over the globe.
