Synopsis

Rodney Marsh began his football career at Fulham, before moving on to QPR and Manchester City, winning nine caps for England along the way, before finishing his playing career in the USA. He played and drank with the best in an era of maverick footballers whose names still linger in fans' minds: George Best, Stan Bowles, Charlie George and Frank Worthington. In his autobiography Marsh explains just how he was able to party hard and play hard at the same time in this account, which offers both humorous and revealing stories. He explains why he was always the fans' favourite but a manager's worry, and now also reveals the insight and understanding of the game that has made him a successful TV pundit and talks about his traumatic upbringing, how alcohol cost him dear, and the joke that finished his England career.
