Revue de presse

Over the last 20 plus years of reading books on WWII Buddies is definately a favorite. A must have for anyone who likes animals or great close up photos of WWII servicemen. The importance of pets to soldiers overeas is evident in every picture. If photos of WWII interests you but perhaps the idea of pets in WWII does not seem that exciting I would suggest picking up a copy anyway because in so many of the photos there are great close up shots not only of the soldiers but also uniforms, weapons etc. Many WWII books that have alot of photos often feature the material of war such as planes, ships, and servicemen often shot from a distance. In this book almost all of these shots are close up and are often portrait in nature but are better because they are not taken in a photo studio. The majority of the pictures are US Navy but there are a number of Air Corps, Marine and Army ones. I highly recommend Buddies !!!! --M. Cassale

Présentation de l'éditeur

One of the most effective forms of American propaganda during World War II was the morale-boosting dog or buddy photo. The photos in this collection are, for the most part, previously unpublished, and each is accompanied by the stories of the dogs and their service in Europe and the Pacific.
