Biographie de l'auteur

Author Phyllis Reynolds Naylor has written more than 120 books that are beloved by children. Her novel Shiloh won the Newbery Award and was voted by children as their favorite book in more than 20 states. It was followed by Shiloh Season and Saving Shiloh. She is also the author of The Great Chicken Debacle. Ms. Naylor lives in Bethesda, Maryland.

Illustrator Marcy Ramsey has illustrated numerous children’s picture and chapter books, including In Our Backyard Garden by Eileen Spinelli and I Was Born to Be a Sister by Akaela S. Michels-Gualtieri. She lives in Maryland.

Sarah Simpson likes to think of ideas that are anything but ordinary. When her third-grade teacher asks each student to pick a country and give an oral report, Sarah wants her choice to be really special. Maybe she should talk about England, since England has a queen and a castle. But as she learns more, she discovers that England isn’t quite as interesting as she thought. For one thing, the English speak the same language as Americans. Sarah finally thinks of a new idea when she sleeps over at her friend Mercedes’ apartment and learns wonderful things about Mexico.
