Ronald B. Scott was a writer for many of Time, Inc.’s magazines—Time, Life, and Sports Illustrated and was part of the small editorial team that founded Time’s eminently successful People Magazine. His freelance pieces have been published by, among others, USA Today; Seattle Post-Intelligencer; Money Magazine; Life Magazine; People Magazine; Cook’s Magazine; The Christian Science Monitor; Australia Golf; The Boston Business Journal; The Megapolis Express (Moscow); Medical World News; The Salt Lake Tribune; The Deseret News; BYTE Magazine, and a number of specialty publications. He has ghost written op-ed pieces that have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Salt Lake Tribune, and other publications. Scott was the first journalist to raise the “flip flopping” issue in late 2005 when Romney, in preparation for a run at the Presidency in 2008, abruptly changed his position on abortion and seemed to adjust his stance on gay rights by opposing same sex marriage. In the run-up to the 2008 primary election season, Scott’s 2005 article in Sunstone Magazine was quoted or used as primary source material on Romney’s political history by many leading news organizations such as The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and National Public Radio.
