Synopsis

Through Another Lens is a collection of reflections on the Year C Sunday Gospels as seen through the classical spiritual poetry of Thomas Merton, Rabindranath Tagore, Denise Levertov, John Donne, and others. This innovative way of viewing sacred Scripture challenges us to enter each Gospel passage in a new way that will lead us to a deeper, richer communion with God.

When we read a poem, we don't simply read words--we set aside our mundane concerns and enter a sacred space, an inner place of prayer and meditation. Through prayerful contemplation of the Gospels seen through the prism of poetry, Sr. Barbara Jean Franklin, ASC, empowers each of us to apply Jesus' teachings to daily life. Through Another Lens is an invaluable companion to the Sunday Gospels.
