This is his 17th published work. The book is the story of an author who wants artistic recognition in his own country. The critic Edmund Wilson referred to Callaghan as the most unjustly neglected writer in the English language. 213 pages. The book is a solid Fine - bright, clean and totally unmarked. No wear to the cloth. The unclipped dustjacket is very nearly Fine with just a couple of very short edge tears to the back panel, closed with acid-free tape to the inside. This book is too thick/heavy to qualify for the rate shown which applies only to 500g or less when packed, and/or under 20mm thick [CPO Lettermail].
