Bob Lucky got his Ph.D. at Purdue a great many years ago. After three decades at Bell Labs he has recently joined Bellcore where he is Vice-President, Applied Research. He lives in Fair Haven, New Jersey, in an old house on a pleasant river. He and his wife Joan have two children and two small, white dogs. He plays the violin and piano and is an enthusiastic biker. His technical field is communications, in which he has authored a textbook as well as the more recent, semi-technical book entitled Silicon Dreams.
