Doug Beyer went from being a MAGIC: THE GATHERING fan to web developer for magicthegathering.com, then prolific flavor text writer, and eventually, the coordinator for MAGIC creative text. His background is in philosophy, software design, and amateur ghost hunting.

Jenna Helland is a writer and editor for Wizards of the Coast in Seattle, Washington. Before moving to the Northwest, she was a journalist for newspapers and Internet sites in Missouri, Virginia, and California. She has degrees from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, and the Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, Missouri. She enjoys reading books with pictures, playing MAGIC: THE GATHERING, and running.
