Gilbert Meilaender is the Duesenberg Professor in Christian Ethics at Valparaiso University, Indiana. His most recent books are Neither Beast Nor God: The Dignity of the Human Person and The Way That Leads There: Augustinian Reflections on the Christian Life. He served on the Presidents Council on Bioethics from 2002 to 2009.
