Synopsis
This volume addresses the lack of research accommodating the wide variety of settings inherent in primary care, and identifies the methods and elements necessary to conduct such research.
Beginning with general issues such as the ethics of conducting research with human subjects, contributors go on to examine practical questions that include combining clinical care and research, recruiting patients and identifying the needs of the surrounding community. Collaborations between nurse and doctor, university and community, industry and clinician are explored, and special settings are discussed.
