David Crowner, who holds a Ph.D. from Rutgers University, retired from Gettysburg College as professor of German language and literature. Gerald Christianson, who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, is Central Pennsylvania Synod Professor of Church History at Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary.
