Cardinal Carlo M. Martini, a world-renowned biblical scholar, was for many years rector and chancellor of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He became Archbishop of Milan in 1979 and since his retirement in 2002 lived in Jerusalem until his death in 2012. He was the author of numerous spiritual and scholarly works. Georg Sporschill is an Austrian Jesuit and pastoral worker. Since 1991 he has been building up a network of care for street children and wayward youth in Eastern Europe. He is the recipient of the Felix Ermacora Human Rights Prize, the Albert Schweitzer Prize, and in 2004 was named Austrian of the Year.
