Synopsis

In this spiritual journal written over the course of a year, the author reflects throughout the liturgical seasons on the serendipitous interweaving of music, art, and faith in daily life. On the feast of the Epiphany, the visit of the Three Magi to the manger, the author takes up a new spiritual journal through a year to the next Epiphany. Those Wise Men following their Star have long held a special place in the imagination of the faithful of all ages. Likewise music both sacred and secular builds a bridge between past and present. To play or just to listen offer two ways of entering another world. It is a religious experience in the most literal sense of the word. This journey with the Magi though art and faith shapes a year as it proceeds from season to season, from Epiphany, through Lent, Easter, ordinary time, Advent, Christmas and back to Epiphany. Music, books, art, and worship quite literally tie together past, present, and future as they nourish ones spiritual life and offer glimpses of the Eternal.|In this spiritual journal written over the course of a year, the author reflects throughout the liturgical seasons on the serendipitous interweaving of music, art, and faith in daily life.
