A re-evaluation of the entire body of architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's American work. Considerably more than a catalogue to the exhibition it accompanies, this major study provides a professional biography, the study of an architect's career. Advancing beyond the usual limits, the book pays critical attention to Mies' drawings and collages as well as to his art collection, as it investigates the relationship between a seminal body of work and its cultural context.
