In Story Rugs and their Storytellers, author Paulette Hackman focuses on a visual style of storytelling, as old as cave art, that is gaining popularity among contemporary rug hookers. The rugs in this book tell of celebrations, travels, and adventures and illustrate personal journeys, strongly held beliefs, poignant memories, and milestones of family heritage. You will find 80 colourful story rugs in a wide range of styles and subjects from rug hooking artists from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, and Japan. The techniques featured throughout will help launch your own storytelling rug, filled with the personal touches that will transform your work of art into a family heirloom.
