Fiber artist Denyse Schmidt has been sewing since her mother taught her as a young girl. A former graphic designer and graduate from Rhode Island School of Design, Schmidt was trained in the performing arts and worked as a professional seamstress for several years. She brings these eclectic influences together in patchwork quilts characterized by simple graphics, rich color, and quality workmanship.
