The Penn Greek Drama Series presents original literary translations of the entire corpus of classical Greek drama: tragedies, comedies, and satyr plays. It is the only contemporary series of all the surviving work of Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes, and Menander.

About the Translators: Greg Delanty's latest poetry collection is The Hellbox; his earlier volumes are American Wake, Southward, and Cast in the Fire. His poems have appeared in the United States, Ireland, England, and Australia in anthologies such as the Field Day Anthology of Irish Writing and the Norton Introduction to Poetry as well as magazines and journals such as the Atlantic Monthly, the New Statesman, the Irish Times, and the Times Literary Supplement. Delanty edited, with Nuala Nandiacute; Dhomhnaill, Jumping Off Shadows: Selected Contemporary Irish Poetry and, with Robert Welsh, The Selected Poems of Patrick Galvin. His numerous honors include the Patrick Kavanagh Award, the Allen Dowling Poetry Fellowship, the Wolfers-O'Neill Award, and the Austin Clark Award. Delanty was born in Cork, Ireland, and lives in Burlington, Vermont, where he teaches at St. Michael's College. Richard Martin, a specialist in Greek literature, mythology and religion, received his A.B. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University. Since 1981 he has taught in the Classics Department at Princeton University, since 1994 as Professor of Classics. His books include an edition of Bulfinch's Mythology and The Language of Heroes: Speech and Performance in the Iliad. Paul Muldoon is the author of 19 volumes of original poetry, most recently Kerry Slides, New Selected Poems, 1968-94, The Annals of Chile, The Prince of the Quotidian, and Incantata. He has translated from the Irish The Astrakhan Cloak, by Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill and, in addition, has written two operas (Vera of Las Vegas; Shining Brow), two plays (Six Honest Serving Men; Monkeys, which was broadcast by the BBC in 1989), and three books for children. His work is represented in such major anthologies of Irish and British poetry as The Penguin Book of Contemporary British Poetry, The Penguin Book of Contemporary Irish Poetry, as well as The Norton Anthology of Modern Poetry (Second Edition). His work has earned him the T.S. Eliot Prize, the Sir Geoffrey Faber Memorial Award (twice), a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, and the Eric Gregory Award. Muldoon is a member of Aosdana and a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. He has taught at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, University of California at Berkeley, Columbia University, University of East Anglia, and Cambridge University. He is currently Howard G. B. Clark Professor in the Humanities, and Director of the Creative Writing Program, at Princeton University. Carol Poster is the author of three volumes of poetry--Blackbird, Deceiving the Worms, and Surrounded by Dangerous Things--and two books of humorous commercial nonfiction. Her translations include Plautus's Stichus (in the Complete Roman Drama in Translation series) and Selected Poems of Jacques Prevert. Her poetry also appears frequently in literary periodicals, such as The Literary Review, Riverrun, The Wisconsin Review, Kansas Quarterly, Bitterroot, and The Formalist. Her scholarly articles on rhetoric, philosophy, and literature have appeared in Philosophy and Rhetoric, Rhetoric Society Quarterly, College English, Pre/text, Mystics Quarterly, and other journals. She won the 1997 Gildersleeve Prize for best article in the American Journal of Philology. She has taught at The University of Northern Iowa and is currently Associate Professor of English at Montana State University.
