Synopsis
The Alabama Confederate Reader, published originally in 1963, is a compilation of over excerpts from printed and manuscript diaries, journals, letters, official reports and accounts in newspapers and periodicals that were written during the Civil War. These personal accounts are intended to generate a deeper understanding of the Civil War period by allowing those who lived through the war to present, in their own words, the story of their great struggle.

Book is clean and binding is tight. There are two small horizontial creases at the bottom of the spine that go less than half way across the spine, it appears to be a printing imperfection.
