Synopsis
American photographer Lisl Dennis describes the creative process by which she isolates the images she captures on film. Illustrated case studies are presented throughout the book. An overall shot establishes the visual material the photographer had to work with, and a series of additional shots reveal the selective process which led to the final shot. The author clarifies this selection process and describes the camera, lenses and filters that made each shot possible. The text specifically explores concepts such as appropriate format, abstraction, angles and the effect of colour on composition.
