Synopsis

Sir Walter Raleigh Born in England in the 1550s, Walter Raleigh was a soldier, a poet, an author, a Member of Parliament, an explorer, a pirate, and above all, a loyal attendant to Queen Elizabeth I. The Queen was so fond of him that she limited his explorations so she would not have to be without his company for extended periods of time. After her death, the new king did not share the fondness for Raleigh and arrested him for treason. Raleigh was forced to live in the Tower of London for thirteen years before being executed.
