Ian Ritchie's distinctive architectural career, marked by experimentation, technological innovation and attention to ecological resources, is explored in this volume. After early years in Norman Foster's London office, Ritchie opened his Paris firm, RFR, in partnership with Peter Rice and Martin Francis. Together with other architects, they worked on projects including parts of the Science Museum at la Villette, the Louvre pyramid, the Esplanade de la Defense, and the TGV terminus at the Charles de Gaulle Airport. His recent work includes the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and the Ecology Gallery at the Science Museum in London.
