Lola M. Schaefer has written many award-winning books for children. After teaching in elementary school classrooms for eighteen years, she is now a national writing and educational consultant. She lives in Georgia.

Paul Meisel, who holds a master's degree in graphic design from Yale University, has illustrated many books for children. His first I Like to Read® book, See Me Run, is a Theodor Seuss Geisel Award Honor book; and the sequel, See Me Dig, was praised as a "gem of an early reader" in a starred review from Kirkus Reviews. He lives in Connecticut.
