Synopsis

This collection of 12 insightful essays brings together several of the leading voices in Catholic religious education in the United States of America as the share their vision for faith formation in the twenty-first century while engaging in dialogue with the 2020 Directory for Catechesis. In the large, diverse and complex religious education landscape, directories for catechesis function as atlases that guide educators and faith communities. However, we need leaders and visionaries who help us to interpret those atlases and read the maps they contain. The authors in Together Along the Way draw from the best of their scholarship as well as their on-the-ground commitments to delineate horizons and contexts. This book is a great resource for religious educators, teachers, pastoral leaders, evangelizers and anyone else interested in sharing the best of the Catholic tradition with creativity.
