Trade Paperback. Etat : Near Fine. First Printing. 138 Pages. No defects noted to this used book with faultless interior text pages and photographs. This book includes the photographs and text of the traveling exhibition of the same name. The book also includes oral histories and essays with additional images and a preface by the author. Countless words and studies bemoan the plight of those who toil in the fields, hut Rick Nahmias's pictures bring farm workers to us in an unforgettable way, taking us beyond images of stoop labor and into the workers' inner lives and intimate moments. Having traveled over four thousand miles to document California's migrant workforce, Nahmias's soulful images and incisive text go beyond one state's issues, illuminating the bigger story about the human cost of feeding America. The author reminds us that the journey to achieve social justice for those who feed us, which Cesar Chavez and myself started decades ago, has not yet been completed. The foundation was laid, a union model built. but we still have a long way to go. Although farm workers' lives are full of hardship and poverty, Rick Nahmias's photos reflect their dignity. Illustrated with full page pohotographs on about half of the pages. N° de réf. du vendeur 14209
