Synopsis
This book is a collection of practical suggestions and materials to use with pupils who have ADHD or demonstrate ADHD type behaviour. It provides a variety of materials to help the child get to know their own personality and mind, and in doing so, become more able to control their own feelings, thoughts and actions. The material is easy to use, straightforward and flexible so that it can be easily adapted to provide a programme of work for individual pupils. This book is meant to demystify ADHD and to enable all those who use it to understand a little more about this complex personality type. It also aims to move the emphasis from disorder to gift, and to show that if ADHD type people are given optimum conditions for growth they can become among the most productive and innovative members of our society.

Kate Spohrer works as an advisory teacher for behaviour in an Inclusion Support Service. She has experience as a SENOCO, and before taking up teaching as a career worked for a major child charity.
