Carsten Peter Thiede had one of the most powerful and original intellects to have shaken up New Testament scholarship in the past two decades. Born in 1952 he studied at the Universities of Berlin, Geneva and Oxford and latterly held a Professorship at the University of Basel. He was the author of a number of groundbreaking books including those he wrote with his collaborator Matthew D`Ancona.These included Eyewitness to Jesus, The Resurrection of Jesus, The Jesus Papyrus and The Quest for the True Cross.He was also an Anglican Priest and Army Chaplain, who served in Iraq.'
