Jim Schmitmeyer is pastor of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Parish, a suburban church near Cincinnati. He also serves as an adjunct professor of homiletics at Mount St. Mary Seminary. The author of three books and numerous articles on ministry and spirituality, Schmitmeyer won the 2000 Best New Author award from the Catholic Press Association for his collection of essays: A Calendar of Care: Reflections of a Country Pastor.
