Information regarding the more radical arm of the right wing movement is not readily available without an extensive search; and, much of the information, while available to the public, must be requested from the "watch dog" groups that police the right wing extremists, or from the groups being studied themselves. These groups report facts from their own perspective. Many right wing groups publish their own newsletters, giving their viewpoints. These publications often change names and sometimes operate under more than one name. Information about specific events is often spread out among a wide field of news media, particularly newspapers and magazines and their reports must be timely and are made on information available at press-time, which may change after more information and investigation is done. For instance, the bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995 was at first blamed on foreign terrorists and thought to be similar to the earlier bombing of the World Trade Center. This book was written to bring the information together and point out the changes that have occurred in the right wing movement in the past quarter of a century. These changes include the populations targeted by right wing violence, the creation of new right wing extremist groups, and changes in the types of violent and criminal activities. The focus: the changes in violent right wing groups and the threat that these changes present to targeted minorities and to the United States government. Factors examined are the increased violence, changes in the pattern of activities of right wing radicals in the past twenty five years, and the organization of right wing extremist groups to form conspiracies. Special attention is given to the nature of these changes and to the dy-namics of the persons involved.
