Michael R. Estep has served as the director of Church Extension Ministries and the Church of the Nazarene's Thrust to the Cities program. An imaginative and innovative churchman, he has played a key role in the development of the Nazarene version of 'The Phone's for You!' strategy, which utilizes telecommunications to plant new churches. He is also responsible for implementation of the 1989 'Year of Church Planting' emphasis, which sought out to develop 730 new churches in the denomination in the span of a single year.
